NJ Woman Killed Crossing the Street

A woman was hit by a car and killed Wednesday night in Rio Grande, New Jersey.

It happened Wednesday around 6 p.m. on Route 47 near Sixth Street.

Police say 42-year-old Nancy Camp from Rio Grande was crossing the street when she was struck by a Chevy Blazer traveling south on the roadway.

Camp was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the driver, 77-year-old Rocco Cocchiola of Goshen, N.J., was abiding by the speed limit and was not impaired.

The accident is under investigation.
