A Newark woman was arrested Friday for stabbing the father of her two children with a kitchen knife, according to police.
The alleged stabbing happened around 11:30 p.m. Thursday in the home they share with their children on the 100 block of Madison Drive.
Investigators say 32-year-old Kristine Hendrickson and the man were engaged in a verbal disagreement when Hendrickson went into the kitchen, grabbed a knife and stabbed the victim in the torso before fleeing the scene.
The victim was transported to Christiana Hospital where he was treated and released.
The children, 11 and 13, who saw the stabbing, are in the care of family member, authorities said.
Henderickson is facing multiple charges including Possession of a Deadly Weapon During Commission of a Felony.
She is being held at Baylor Women's Correctional in lieu of $52,000 secured bail.
