Man Shoots Girlfriend in the Mouth, Killing Her: Police

A man is in custody after he allegedly shot and killed his girlfriend in Southwest Philadelphia.

The 36-year-old woman was involved in a domestic situation with her 64-year-old boyfriend on the 2600 block of Muhlfeld Street Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

The boyfriend allegedly took out a gun and opened fire, striking the woman at least once in the roof of her mouth. She was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where she later died from her injuries.

The woman's boyfriend was arrested. Police have not yet revealed his identity.
