A woman is dead after a gunman shot her in the head and neck in North Philly Saturday night.
The shooter opened fire on the woman on North 5th Street, between Susquehanna Avenue and Diamond Street, around 8:45 a.m., according to police.
The victim was rushed to Temple University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead a short time later, officials said.
Authorities said they are searching for the gunman, who they said likely knew his victim.
Homicide detectives said they are waiting on a search warrant to continue the investigation.
