Woman Shot by Road-Rage Driver in Center City

Driver shoots woman for not letting him cut in front of her

A 40-year-old woman who was driving home with friends after attending a comedy show Friday night was shot after she didn’t allow another driver cut in front of her.

The road-rage driver is still on the loose.

The Delaware County woman had just left a comedy show at the Liacorus Center and was following one of her friend’s cars when a large white SUV tried to “bully” his way in front her near Broad Street and Spring Garden, said police.

The woman, who wanted to stay close behind the friend she was following, wouldn’t let the SUV in front of her. The man driving the SUV cut the woman off any way, reached out of his driver’s side window and fired a shot through the victim’s windshield, according to police.

The woman was shot in the left arm, drove away in fear for a few blocks, pulled her car over and called 911.

She was brought to Hahnemann University Hospital. She is in stable condition, police said.
