A woman was sexually assaulted in Egg Harbor Township Sunday by someone she met online, police say.
Police say the alleged assault occurred on the dirt-covered portion of Roosevelt Avenue near the Farmington section of the township.
The alleged victim went out on a date with a man she met on the Internet. She was then driven to the secluded road and both physically and sexually assaulted, police say.
The suspect is identified as 30-year-old Jaron Strother of Somers Point. Strother fled the scene but was apprehended on Wednesday by Egg Harbor Police.
Strother was charged with Sexual Assault, Aggravated Assault, Theft and Robbery among other charges. He is being held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility on $100,000 bail.
