A New Jersey judge has found an upstate New York woman who ran over her ex-boyfriend not guilty by reason of insanity.
The judge reached the verdict after listening to three hours of testimony from witnesses who described how Pamela Parol had a history of mental illness.
The 54-year-old Warwick, N.Y., resident was accused of running down 61-year-old Steven Lutke in a gym parking lot in Vernon, N.J., on Nov. 12.
She told her husband after the incident that she had "killed the devil." But Lutke survived with a broken rib and lacerations.
A psychologist testified Parol has multiple mental health disorders.
Her husband told The Star-Ledger of Newark his wife needs help.
She'll be transferred to a state psychiatric hospital.
