Woman Ran Over and Dies in Motorcycle Crash, Driver Seriously Injured

Delaware State Police are investigating a motorcycle crash that killed one person and seriously injured another.

Police say troopers were called to the Delmar area after the crash Thursday night. Investigators say a 60-year-old man was driving a motorcycle on Sussex Highway near Iron Hill Road.

Police say it appears an unknown vehicle may have pulled out in front of the motorcycle. The driver locked the brakes and tried to avoid crashing. But both the motorcycle driver and a woman passenger were ejected onto the roadway.

Shortly after, police say a Honda Accord traveling on Sussex Highway partially ran over the female victim.

The female motorcycle passenger was later pronounced dead. The motorcycle driver was taken to a hospital in serious condition.
