Woman Loses Arm in Car Crash

A 9-year-old boy and 53-year-old woman were also injured in the accident.

Three people are in the hospital, including one woman whose arm was severed, after an accident in Southwest Philadelphia.

It happened Monday around 5:40 p.m. at the Passyunk Bridge on 3000 Passyunk Avenue. Police say three cars collided in the crash leading to three people being injured. A 28-year-old woman lost her left arm in the accident. She is currently in stable condition at the Hospital at Penn.

A 9-year-old boy suffered a swollen left hand with cuts and abrasions. He was taken to the Children’s Hospital where he is currently in stable condition.

Finally a 53-year-old woman was taken to the Hospital at Penn and treated for back, head and shoulder pain. She is currently in stable condition.

The bridge was closed after the accident but reopened around 8 p.m.
