A woman died after a car accident on Roosevelt Boulevard.

WATCH: Questions Remain After Fatal Plane Crash

Police say a 25-year-old woman was driving a Silver Honda Civic northbound on Roosevelt Boulevard near Adams Avenue around 9:05 p.m.

Suddenly, police say, the woman's car and two other vehicles were involved in a crash. The woman was ejected from the car, according to investigators.

The woman was pronounced dead at 9:12 p.m. She has not yet been identified. No other people were hurt in the crash.

Northbound inner lanes on the Boulevard were shut down. They have since been reopened. Officials continue to investigate the cause.

The accident was the first of two on the Boulevard Monday night.

Shortly before 10 p.m., a pedestrian was struck on the Boulevard near Old York Road in Hunting Park. The striking vehicle then fled the scene, according to investigators. Police say the unidentified victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Last July, two separate accidents on the Boulevard resulted in the death of a woman and three of her four children and left an 11-year-old girl in critical condition.

The accidents have brought national attention once again to the issue of pedestrian and driver safety along the 12-lane highway that is frequently referred to as one of the most dangerous roads in the country.
