Woman Killed, 2 Hurt in Rt. 42 Crash

Authorities say a woman was killed and two other people were hurt when a car traveling on a southern New Jersey highway suddenly left the road and flipped over.

It's not yet clear what caused the accident, which occurred around 5:25 p.m. Saturday in the eastbound lanes of Route 42 in Gloucester Township, near the Atlantic City Expressway.

Authorities say the woman who was killed was a passenger in the vehicle, but her name was not released. The driver and another passenger were both hospitalized with undisclosed injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
