Woman Guilty of Beating, Burning Mother

Bucks County woman bludgeons, burns her mother

A judge found a Bucks County woman guilty of murdering her mother, reports the Philadelphia Inquirer.

The morning of Oct. 17, Rebecca Olenchock, 25, gruesomely beat her mother with a baseball bat and set fire to the hut that they lived in, locking her mother inside.

According to the Inquirer, Olenchok, frustrated with living in poverty, then proceeded to drive to Tennessee to meet up with a boyfriend she had met online.

The case was decided in a 2 1/2-day, non-jury trial, with the help of overwhelming evidence, reports the Inquirer.

A sentencing date has not been scheduled yet, but already, under state law, Olenchock faces a mandatory life sentence without parole.
