A 52-year-old woman was discovered sitting on her couch, dead, by her sister Tuesday night in North Philadelphia, according to Philadelphia Police.
Authorities say Lavonne “Beverly” Thrones-Johnson was found by her sister around 10:50 p.m. at her home on the 2200-block of Gratz Street.
Police confirm the cause of death is blunt force trauma.
The sister, who lives just a few doors down, began to worry when she hadn’t heard from Thrones-Johnson, so she went to check on her, police tell NBC10. When she found her sister unresponsive, she called 9-11.
Police say there are no signs of forced entry into the home and no suspects at this time.
