A woman is dead and her husband in the hospital after a house fire in Whitemarsh Township.

Woman Dies, Husband Hurt in House Fire

The fire broke out Saturday around 2:30 p.m. at a home on the 300 block of Roberts Avenue in the Conshohocken section of Whitemarsh.

A woman is dead and her husband in the hospital after a house fire in Whitemarsh Township.

The fire broke out Saturday around 2:30 p.m. at a home on the 300 block of Roberts Avenue in the Conshohocken section of Whitemarsh.

When police and firefighters arrived they found 70-year-old James Conicello at the back of the house suffering from burn injuries. He was taken to Bryn Mawr Emergency. His condition has not yet been revealed.

As firefighters battled the blaze they found the body of Conicello’s wife, 71-year-old Barbara Conicello, inside a bedroom.

Officials are currently investigating the cause of the blaze.
