Woman Charged in Hamilton Township Hit-and-Run

A woman was arrested in connection to a hit-and-run crash in Hamilton Township, New Jersey.

Carmen Rodriguez of Hamilton turned herself in to police Friday for a hit-and-run crash earlier in the week.

On Feb. 1, Donald Brocak, 63, of Hamilton, was walking northbound across East State Street near Victor Avenue around 6:12 p.m. when he was struck by Rodriguez's silver SUV traveling westbound on East State, investigators said. Rodriguez allegedly continued traveling westbound on East State into Trenton.

Brocak injured his right leg, right arm and face. He was taken to the hospital for treatment. Officials have not yet revealed his condition.

Rodriguez was taken into custody and charged with assault by auto, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident involving serious bodily harm, and several motor vehicle offenses. Her bail has been set at $8500 with a ten percent option.
