Woman Charged in Boyfriend's Shooting Death

The girlfriend of a man killed during a domestic dispute in northeastern Pennsylvania almost two years ago has been charged with homicide in his death.

Twenty-nine-year-old Jessica Alinsky of Shenandoah is charged with criminal homicide and tampering with evidence in the September 2011 shooting death of 34-year-old Matthew Gailie of Hazle Township.

The charges filed Wednesday in Luzerne County came a day after a jury decided following a rare coroner's inquest that Gailie's death was a homicide.

Alinsky invoked her constitutional right against self-incrimination when called to the witness stand during the proceedings.

Her attorney, Gary Marchalk, said Alinsky maintains her innocence. He said after the coroner's inquest that jurors in such proceedings get to hear only one side of a story.
