Teen Attacked in Her Strawberry Mansion Home

Philadelphia police are questioning a man in connection with the attack of a teen in her home in the Strawberry Mansion section of the city early Thursday.

Police say the intruder gained access to the home on the 3000 block of Fontain Street through an open first floor window around 3:30 a.m.

According to authorities, the knife-wielding suspect attempted to sexually assault the 17-year-old victim, but she was able to fight him off.

The teen was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries she sustained during the struggle.

No charges have been filed.

Police want to remind residents that first floor windows should be locked, especially at night, because open windows make homes more vulnerable to break-ins.
