Woman Arrested for Fake Coupon Scheme

Suspect is accused of making off with more than $3,000 in baby food & other goods from Walgreens

She's not a thrifty coupon clipper but instead charged with theft, police tell the Delaware County Times.

Amanda Panek, 27, of Lakewood, Ohio, is accused of traveling down the East Coast on a spending spree, with fake Walgreens coupons, reports the Delaware County Times.

Pennsylvania State Police arrested Panek on March 11 at the Walgreens on Wilmington West Chester Pike in Chadds Ford, according to the newspaper.

Each coupon was worth $10 and police tell the Delaware County Times she made off with $3,555 worth of stuff. Many of her purchases included baby formula.

She is charged with theft by deception and 16 counts of possessing an instrument of crime, according to court documents.

Panek is out of prison after posting $50,000 bail.
