Would-Be Burglars Shoot Wilmington Man: Cops

Man in stable condition after being shot in the chest by two men who were trying to rob them

A Wilmington man was shot this afternoon after he confronted two men burglarizing his home.

Wilmington Police say that two masked men entered the unidentified man’s home on the unit block of W 24th Street just before 1 p.m. and were trying to take items from the home when the victim confronted them. One of the suspects then shot the victim and fled down N Tattnall Street, according investigators.

Police rushed the man to Christiana Hospital where he was listed in stable condition.

Police only had basic descriptions of the alleged home invaders, only saying that the suspects were masked black men dressed in all black clothing.
