Man Dies After Double Shooting in Wilmington

Police said in a statement Saturday that the 21-year-old man succumbed to his injuries.

Police say a 21-year-old man has died after a double shooting in Wilmington.

Officers responded to a report of gunfire on South Harrison Street on Friday afternoon and were redirected to Elm Street where they found the man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition. They also found a 20-year-old man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to his torso at 2nd and North Jackson streets. He was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

Police said in a statement Saturday that the 21-year-old man succumbed to his injuries. His name is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.
