Wildwoods Named Best Boardwalk in America

The popular local attraction was named the nation’s “No. 1 Beach Boardwalk for Families” by Family Vacation Critic.

It may be a long way until summer, but fans of the famous Wildwoods Boardwalk have a reason to celebrate. The popular local attraction was named the nation’s “No. 1 Beach Boardwalk for Families” by Family Vacation Critic.

The website referred to the boardwalk as “one of the most popular and kitschiest boardwalks in the country.” The site also described the boardwalk’s nostalgic, doo-wop architecture, free beach, variety of fun activities and rides.

John Siciliano, the executive director for the Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement and Development Authority, released the following statement in response to the honor:

It’s a great honor to be recognized as the No. 1 Beach Boardwalk for Families in the nation. We owe this recognition to the hard work and determination of the hundreds of small business owners who bring their vision and innovation to the myriad of shops, attractions, arcades, games and eateries that together make the Wildwoods’ Boardwalk second to none. And we also owe our gratitude to the millions of families that come to enjoy all we have to offer -- from the boardwalk and beach, to the great events, shopping, eateries and dining. Everyone at this destination works tirelessly in making the Wildwoods one of the country’s most popular family vacation destinations, and we are grateful that our work is paying off for our visitors.
