A popular Jersey shore roller coaster is being dismantled piece by piece as part of a $5 million rebuilding project.
The Great Nor'Easter roller coaster on Morey's Pier in Wildwood is having its track replaced and will have a new paint scheme when it reopens next year.
The Press of Atlantic City reports the 2,100-foot-long roller coaster is being rehabbed by the Dutch company that built it, Vekoma.
The coaster has been a favorite of riders for 21 years -- since it started pulling people into the air before dropping them down nearly 100 feet at more than 50 miles per hour.
