Wildwood has replaced the "W" tree with the "Wildwood Wave" in the southern New Jersey town's new logo.
The tree represented holly trees with branches shaped like the letter W that once grew along Five Mile Beach. They were long cleared as homes and businesses grew.
Wildwood Historical Society president Kathy Skouras tells The Press of Atlantic City officials are trying to update things.
The city's museum has a piece of the "W" tree on display.
