Presidential nominee Mitt Romney will be giving his speech on Thursday night at the convention and local residents say they will be watching.
The excitement is building among his supporters for the moment when presidential nominee Mitt Romney delivers his acceptance speech Thursday night at the Republican National Convention.
Voters in our area say they will be tuning in to hear what he has to say.
“I'm going to be watching the speech with anticipation as to him giving a positive message to the country,” said Media resident Michael Core.
“I'm going to watch, I like to be objective and I really do want to hear both sides,” said Wallingford resident Diana.
In downtown Media on Thursday there was a mix of opinions about what voters want to hear in Romney’s speech..
“I know he touts a good record as having been governor and done some things in private life and I'd like to see how he plans on translating that to leading the nation,” said Media resident Steve Miller.
Peggy Ferguson, who’s visiting family in Delaware County, said she’s already made up her mind about supporting the reelection of Pres. Barack Obama.
“I'm really worried that the Republicans by some of the untruths they're saying are going to win some converts to their cause, said Ferguson, who lives in Fairfax, Va.
The deputy field director at the Montgomery County Romney Victory headquarters in Conshohocken is a high school student who’s working hard to help convince more voters to support the Republican nominee.
“I'm really excited for him to defend himself against all the critics who believe that he hasn't really been defending what he's been doing, said Sarah Tupchong, a Lafayette Hill resident and rising senior at the Baldwin School. “He hasn't talked about his experience in business and why he is the best guy for the economy.”
Romney-Ryan volunteers say they feel good about how voters are responding to the nominees, especially among the women they’re calling.
“The women voters need to be pulled in you know and I think they'll come around i really do, said Susan McLaughlin from East Norriton.
The statewide Romney-Ryan bus tour that’s been rolling through Pennsylvania is pulling into Conshohocken just in time for Thursday night’s "We Believe in America" watch party for Romney's speech.
