Umbrella Alert! Heavy Rain to Hit Area Wednesday

Grab your umbrella again Wednesday. We're in for another soaker.

The rain will fall mainly in areas north and west Wednesday morning before moving into the Philadelphia area in the afternoon. Heavy rain will continue until it finally tapers off during the evening commute before clearing late Wednesday night as a cold front moves through. Highs during the day will be near 60.

As the rain leaves late Wednesday, mild weather returns with a gusty and partly sunny Thursday.

“Once we get past this bit of wet weather, we return you to your regularly scheduled warmer than normal December,” said NBC10 First Alert Weather meteorologist Bill Henley.

Rain already soaked the region Tuesday. By late afternoon Tuesday, Philadelphia International Airport reported 20-straight hours of light rain. Fog then moved into the area Tuesday night into the overnight hours.
