Suspected DUI Driver Strikes Man Pushing Stroller in West Philly: Police

A driver is in police custody after a hit and run crash that involved an infant in Philadelphia Tuesday morning.

The incident happened about 8 a.m. at 66th Street and Haverford Avenue in West Philadelphia.

Investigators told NBC10 a man walking his one-year-old in a stroller, along with a dog, when a passing car struck the dad.

After the man was hit by the car, the baby fell out of the stroller. The baby was not hit by the car and was not seriously injured.

The dog was also uninjured.

The dad’s injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The driver, according to police, initially fled the scene, but was taken into custody a short distance later. He is suspected of driving under the influence, police said.

The incident remains under investigation.
