A driver ran off after slamming his or her sports utility vehicle into a home overnight as residents slept inside.

The driver of the red SUV somehow lost control before crashing into a home on the 1400 block of Lincoln Avenue in West Deptford, N.J. around 3 a.m., according to West Deptford Police.

The force of the wreck caused visible damaged to the home and the Chevrolet Blazer.

After the crash the driver fled in an unknown direction, according to police.

None of the people inside the home at the time of the wreck suffered any injuries. Medics did however take the SUV passenger to the hospital for observation.

The American Red Cross South Jersey Chapter responded with assistance to the emergency responders at the scene.
