Wanted: Chestnut Hill Bank Robbery Suspect

The man held up a teller with a threatening note

Philadelphia police and the FBI are asking the public to help them identify and find the man accused of robbing the National Penn Bank in Chestnut Hill on Monday.

The robbery happened at 11:30 a.m.

The man came into the bank and handed a threatening note to one of the tellers, according to police.

The teller handed over money. The robber took off and was last seen heading east on Evergreen Avenue, investigators said.

Surveillance cameras captured some pretty good pictures of the man. He's described as being in his late 20s or early 30s. He was wearing a royal blue hooded sweatshirt, gray gloves gray sweat pants and large brown sunglasses.

He is considered armed and dangerous, according to police.

There may be a reward for information leading to the man's capture. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
