Philadelphia's first ever citywide celebration of those who served their country will take place Sunday.
Some Philadelphia-area veterans felt the city wasn't doing its part to remember their service ... and that helped bring about this parade.
Terry Williamson, president of the Philadelphia Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, said hundreds of marchers will gather at Broad and Walnut streets at 11 a.m. and step off toward Independence Mall.
"There's going to be upwards of 2,000 participants and 150 organizations that are going to be participating," he said. "They are going to be marching from Broad and Walnut, and taking that half turn there and marching on Market Street to Independence Mall."
Williamson said a spectacular display is planned for the end of the parade.
"We're fortunate to have the all-veterans parachute team, most whom were part of the Golden Knights, that will be doing a jump at 12:30 p.m.," he said.

Williamson is hoping for a big crowd to line the route.
