Navigating Villanova's Victory Parade with SEPTA

Villanova has won and the parade is set, but have you figured out how you're getting to the festivities?

Since the announcement of Villanova's NCAA Championship parade happening Friday, SEPTA has released information on how the celebration is going to impact those who plan on taking public transportation.

For those who are not playing hooky, SEPTA expects a regular commute into work Friday morning but reminds riders that the evening is expected to be extremely heavy as the parade is ending just before the normal Friday rush hour.

Here is a comprehensive list of SEPTA public transit changes due to the parade.

HIGH SPEED LINES

Much like the Phillies Parade in 2008, SEPTA is adding extra capacity to all High Speed Lines.

Norristown High Speed Line (NHSL) provides service from the Villanova University area with stops at Radnor, Villanova, and Stadium Stations. NHSL passengers can transfer to MFL at 69th Street to continue the trip to Center City.

The Market-Frankford (MFL) and Broad Street Line (BSL) will have extra capacity as well.

The 15th Street MFL Stations and the City Hall BSL station are expected to stay open during the parade, but SEPTA warns if conditions become to overcrowded, the stations will be bypassed.

Passengers should use MFL's 13th Street and BSL's Walnut-Locust stations in the event of any closures at 15th and City Hall.

REGIONAL RAIL

The Paoli/Thorndale Line serves stations near Radnor, Villanova, and Rosemont every 30 minutes.

All other regional rail lines will be operating on a normal schedule.

BUS ROUTES

From 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday the following buses will be detoured around City Hall and Dilworth Plaza due to the parade:
Route 2, 4, 7, 16, 17, 27, 31, 32, 33, 38, 44, 48, 62, 124, and 125.

Complete detour information is available here.

TROLLEYS

SEPTA urges riders of trolley routes 10, 11, 13, 34 and 36 to look out for service announcements of possible station closures due to the parade and crowds Friday.
