Community members plan to gather Wednesday to remember the baby killed after her mother allegedly doused her with an accelerant and set her on fire along a South Jersey road late Friday night.
The vigil will take place at the United Methodist Church in Pemberton Township on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
The mourners plan to remember the newborn girl who died about two hours after medical personnel airlifted her to St. Christopher's Hospital in Philadelphia.
The infant's mother, 22-year-old Hyphernkemberly Dorvilier, of Pemberton Township, New Jersey, is charged with one count of murder after she allegedly lit her newborn daughter on fire along Simontown Road just before 11 p.m. Friday.
Authorities responded to reports of a fire in the roadway and, when they arrived, they found the baby on fire.
A neighbor, Davis Joseph, spotted the blaze, but did not realize a child was on fire until his wife heard the baby's screams.
"It's disheartening, like a nightmare what I saw out there," Joseph said.
Dorvilier was arrested and being held on $500,000 bail.
Authorities say Dorvilier could have dropped the infant off at a police station or hospital anonymously as part of New Jersey's safe haven law.
Strangers created a memorial for the unnamed baby girl with flowers and teddy bears.

An autopsy on the baby will be performed by the Burlington County Medical Examiner. The details on the girl's birth are under investigation.
