Bus Beating Victim: “I Got Attacked for Nothing”

Surveillance video from inside a SEPTA bus shows three men attacking the 25-year-old victim

A 25-year-old man who was beat up by three men on a SEPTA bus earlier this week is talking about the attack.

"They started attacking me for nothing," said the man, who did not want to be identified for fear of retaliation.

Police say the trio followed the man onto the bus around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday on the 4800 block of North Broad Street in the Logan section of Philadelphia.

The victim says the three men asked him if he had a car and when he told them no, they began kicking and punching him.

The man's face, eye and arm were injured. "I wish I would have never gotten on that bus," said the 25-year-old man.

Police say the attackers left the bus out the back doors and ran Northbound on Broad Street from Wyoming Avenue.

His mother says she hopes the men are caught soon and locked up. "You don't just get on the bus and start targeting people, or just decide to start hitting on people for no apparent reason."

If you recognize the attackers seen in this surveillance video, give Philadelphia Police a call.
