Officials investigated a fire at a vacant auto body shop in South Jersey as "suspicious."

The fire broke out shortly before 2:20 a.m. Sunday at an abandoned shop on the 400 block of Pavilion Avenue in Riverside, New Jersey.

The fire caused the roof of the building to collapse before firefighters brought the flames under control after about 90 minutes. No one was hurt during the incident.

Riverside Fire Chief Donald Nesbit said that his department planned to investigate and that the fire is considered suspicious.

A resident who lives nearby told NBC10 he spotted someone running from the building moments before it went up in flames.
