Man With Face Tattoos ID'd in Undercover Officer's Shooting: Detectives

A 21-year-old man with tattoos no his face and neck is the gunman who shot an undercover officer this week in Camden when he opened fire on the cop's car, according to detectives.

The booking photo police sent out Friday shows Victor Bennett with tattoos on his forehead, left cheek as well as the right side of his neck.

Detectives say Bennett shot at Officer Price Reed's car as he drove past the Camden man on Kenwood Avenue Wednesday night around 11:30 p.m.

Officer Reed was hit in the arm by a bullet fragment when several rounds hit his car.

Police spokesman Dan Keashen says Reed was released Thursday from the hospital and is in good spirits.

Keashen says police were led to Bennett after speaking to a number of witnesses.

Bennett is 6-feet, 2-inches tall and 195 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. The U.S. Marshal's Service is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to his arrest.
