Ultralight Plane Crashes, Traps Pilot in Burlington County

Authorities say the pilot of an ultralight plane broke both legs when it crashed near an airport in New Jersey, trapping him inside the aircraft.

But investigators say it's not yet clear what caused the crash.

The pilot was alone in the aircraft when it went down shortly before 1 p.m. Sunday at Pemberton Airport. It crashed at the end of a runway, and emergency responders had to free the man from the wreckage.

Besides the broken legs, authorities say the pilot suffered other injuries in the crash. He was flown to a hospital, but further details on his condition were not disclosed.

The pilot's name has not been released.

Officials say no one on the ground was injured in the accident.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
