Ukrainian Coach Held on Teen Sex Charge

Defense lawyer asked for more time to find friends who are willing to house the coach until trial

A Ukrainian hockey coach charged with fondling a teen player in Philadelphia will remain in custody until a bail hearing next week.

A public defender told a judge Friday that he needs more time to find friends of 48-year-old Ivan Pravilov. Defense lawyer Mark Wilson hopes to find someone willing to house the coach until trial.

Federal prosecutors call the coach a danger and flight risk. They will oppose bail when the hearing resumes Wednesday.

Pravilov is charged with taking a 14-year-old Ukrainian boy to the coach's Philadelphia apartment this month and fondling him. He is also accused of threatening a teenage witness.

Pravilov entered the U.S. in 2007 on a work visa and runs hockey camps in several states for foreign and U.S. players.
