Two of Philly's Finest Behind Bars

Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey has announced the arrest of two Philadelphia Police Officers for unrelated crimes.

On Friday, Jan. 21, Officer Nicholas Adelizzi of the 17th district was arrested and charged with retail theft.

Adelizzi was reportedly on duty in a training capacity when he committed a retail theft on January 10. Adelizzi will be rejected for permanent employement during his probationary period.

On Thursday, Officer Brien Greene of the 39th district was arrested for allegedly threatening two employees of a business with a gun while he was off-duty on Jan. 11.

Greene, 27, has been a member of the Philadelphia Police Academy since September of 2007. He is charged with aggravated assault, possessing an instrument of crime, terroristic threats, simple assault, and recklessly endangering another person.

Commissioner Ramsey has suspended Greene for 30 days with the intent to dismiss.
