Federal prosecutors say two suburban Philadelphia men have pleaded guilty to filing false land deeds on homes and fraudulent tax forms to try to intimidate and harass judges, law enforcement, and other government workers.
The Philadelphia Inquirer reports Steven Hameed and Darnell Young pleaded guilty on Wednesday to charges they filed false land deeds with the Delaware County Recorder of Deeds Office.
Authorities say the Chester men tried to claim ownership of homes that were either government- or bank-owned, then tried to live in, rent, or sell them.
Prosecutors say they created a bogus financial bond on one occasion and mailed it to a real estate agent to try to buy a property.
They face "substantial'' incarceration periods and fines at their September sentencings.
