2 Corrections Officers Killed in Motorcycle Crash

Two corrections officers were killed when their motorcycles collided with a car in southern New Jersey.

Another motorcyclist and the car's driver were also injured in the crash, which occurred around 7:50 p.m. Saturday on Route 40 in Carneys Point, N.J., but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The cause of the accident remained under investigation Sunday.

Derrick Sulton, 42 of Bridgeton, N.J., and 31-year-old George Jackson II of Pittsgrove Township, N.J. were both pronounced dead at the scene.

The men worked at South Woods State Prison, the state's newest and largest prison, located in Bridgeton, Cumberland County.

Authorities tell The South Jersey Times that the two were riding westbound with three other motorcyclists when a car driven by 21-year-old Jehu Santiago of Penns Grove, N.J. tried to cross the highway.

Authorities say Santiago was driving without a license.
