Tractor-Trailer Rips Front Off House

No one was in the house at the time of the crash

The driver of a tractor-trailer died after crashing into a house in Woodbine, N.J., Monday afternoon, ripping the front of the house right off.

No one was home at the time of the accident, say New Jersey State Police.

“It’s totaled. It totaled the house. Shifted the whole thing. Can’t even open the doors inside. So I guess I’ve got to get a new one,” the owner of the house told NBC Philadelphia

At about 3:30 p.m. the driver of the tractor-trailer lost control of the vehicle and crashed into 823 Franklin St. in Woodbine.

“It seemed like he was going straight but then he jumped the curb and he ran right into those people’s house over there,” a woman who witnessed the accident told NBC Philadelphia.

From their preliminary investigation, state police believe the driver, who has yet to be identified, suffered a heart attack. Paramedics administered CPR at the scene and he was brought to Cape Regional Medical Center in critical condition where he later died.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
