Week of Winter Weather: Snow, Sleet, Rain & More Snow

More winter weather to hit later in the week

Only a day after ice from Sunday's storm melted, more winter weather, including sleet and snow, is set to hit the region.

High temperatures Monday caused melting throughout the day and strong winds kept roads relatively dry. However, temperatures fell into the low 20's and teens Monday night, causing re-freezing on roads and sidewalks.

Another storm is set to move in Tuesday afternoon with a mix of snow, ice and rain. While little snow accumulation is expected, sleet will cause slippery road conditions during the Tuesday night rush.

Tuesday Timeline

4 p.m. to 5 p.m. - Widespread snow and wintry mix throughout region

Wednesday promises warmer, but wetter weather. You should expect to wake up to rain in the morning that will continue throughout the day. The highs are predicted to reach up to 47 degrees.

After the warmup however, more snow with the potential for significant accumulation, is set to move in late Wednesday around 11 p.m.

"We'll start to see an area of snow developing then spreading through the area overnight into early Thursday," said NBC10 First Alert Weather Meteorologist Sheena Parveen. "Some of this could be lasting through the morning commute. Models seem to be getting a better handle on this as we get closer but snow totals haven't been nailed out just yet, although we do expect accumulating snow."
