Toddler Dies After Fall From 3rd Floor Window

A toddler died after a fall Sunday night.

According to the Philadelphia Special Victims Unit, the yet-to-be-identified 3-year-old fell three stories out of a window in the 1600 block of Foulkrod Street in the Frankford section of the city around 6 p.m.

Philadelphia Police report the child fell from a rear apartment. Authorities say the boy fell about 30 feet Sunday night and landed on concrete.

The young boy was transported to St. Christopher's Hospital where he later died.

Police say the child was in a room with his 4- and 2-year-old sisters when he fell. His aunt and godmother were in the apartment at the time, but his parents were not home, reported the Philadelphia Inquirer.

No word yet on what events led to the fatal fall.
