Tip on Missing Prosecutor in Sandusky Case Unfounded

A police chief says the latest reported tip about the whereabouts of a missing prosecutor connected to former Pennsylvania State University assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky's child sex abuse case has turned out to be unfounded.

Bellefonte police Chief Shawn Weaver says the FBI took the latest tipster to a location where he claimed Centre County District Attorney Ray Gricar (GREE'-kar) was buried and nothing was found.

Gricar disappeared in 2005, seven years after he decided not to charge Sandusky in 1998 after a boy's mother complained to State College police about abuse.

Chief Weaver says the FBI checked out the latest tip after an inmate claimed Gricar was in debt to a Hells Angel's group and that one of its members _ a man Gricar prosecuted for beating a man with a baseball bat _ also killed Gricar.
