Three brothers are lucky to be alive after masked gunmen broke into their home, tied them up and stole money and jewelry.
The home invasion happened Thursday night in the brothers’ home at Magee and Frontenac Streets in the Oxford Circle section of Philadelphia.
22-year-old Jason Hood said three men broke into the house through a window. He lives there with his 21 and 25-year-old brothers.
The younger brother was in the basement when the men entered the home. Hood said they tied his brother up and waited for him and his older brother to get home.
“I opened the door and two boys was in there with guns and I walked over and they started swinging with the guns. So I grabbed both of the guns, but they started swinging and beating on me. They eventually knocked me down, but they was skinny boys…they weren’t strong at all,” Hood told NBC10’s Mike Strug.
Hood was then tied up and his older brother suffered the same fate when he came home.
“The guy opens the door for him -- grabs him and grabs a gun -- and makes him come into the house and ties him up too,” Hood said.

He says the gunmen then “ransacked” the house stealing cash, cell phones and watches.
“They took my rent money, my truck money, my brother got paid today and they took his money…simple stuff, stupid stuff,” Hood said.
They were tied up for almost three hours. Hood said he overheard the men saying they were part of an “Irish mob.”
Police are investigating the incident.
