Men Steal Donations for Girl With Leukemia: Cops

Police say the incident happened at a pizzeria in North Scranton.

Police are searching for two men who they say swiped a collection jar for a girl suffering from leukemia.

The incident happened at “Pepper’s Pizza & Subs” in North Scranton last Sunday, according to the Times Tribune.

The Tribune reports that Kaidence O’Donnell, 2, of Clarks Summit, Pa., was diagnosed with leukemia last December. Family friends placed the jar at the pizza shop to raise money for her medical costs and weekly visits to a children’s hospital.

Police say two men walked into the pizzeria together. One man grabbed the jar resting on the counter while the other handed him a shirt to conceal it before the two left. The crime was captured on surveillance video.

The Tribune reports that the jar had Kaidence’s picture on it as well as a description of the girl and her illness.

Police continue to search for the suspects. If you have any information on this incident, please call the Scranton Police Department at 570-348-4139.
