Woman on Bath Salts Falls From Tree, Gets Arrested

A central Pennsylvania woman has been jailed after police unwittingly caught up to her when she fell from a tree stand where she had been hiding from the law.

Spring Township police have been looking for 37-year-old Betty Moore, of Bellefonte, since March when investigators say she stole a gun from a house she was hired to clean.

Police tell WJAC-TV that Moore sold the gun to buy heroin and had avoided arrest until she was finally supposed to surrender earlier this month.

When she didn't surrender, police began looking for her.

Police couldn't find Moore until emergency crews responded to reports of a woman who fell from a tree stand, which is a platform secured to a tree that hunters often use, in Burnside Township last week.

There they found Moore strung out on bath salts. Online court records don't a defense attorney.
