School officials at Williamson Free School of Mechanical Trades said specialists will examine school policies on Monday following the electrocution death of a student during class at the school's power plant.

The Delaware County medical examiner has confirmed Michael Savage Jr., 18, of Glenolden, died as a result of low voltage electrocution while in process of wiring a large lamp Friday afternoon.

A senior at the school gave Savage, a freshman, CPR until medics arrived.

The former Academy Park High School athlete was then taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

There was a moment of silence Friday night at Knight Park for Savage, whose quick smile could light up a whole floor at his alma mater, died just hours before the Academy Park Knights took on Interboro in a Del-Val football game, the Delaware County Daily Times reported.

Conselors were available to students at the school on Monday.

Services for Savage are scheduled Tuesday at Holy Cross Church in Springfield.
