Officials have recovered the body of a Pennsylvania teen who disappeared after jumping into the Schuylkill River two weeks ago.
The body of 17-year-old Jamie Escobar was found Wednesday in Cumru Township, Berks County, about a mile and half downriver of where he jumped into the river on May 9.
Escobar and into the river from a West Reading footbridge despite not knowing how to swim. He was quickly swept away and disappeared under the surface.
A friend who also jumped in made it to shore had warned Escobar the current was strong.
Escobar's body was discovered by a search and rescue team conducting training exercises.
