Teen Safe, Father Missing After Tubing Accident

Emergency responders have resumed their search for a man who went missing after a tubing accident on the Delaware River in northwestern New Jersey.

The 38-year-old man was tubing with several others Saturday afternoon when his tube and the tube of his 14-year-old daughter both broke free. The two tubes then drifted toward the Pennsylvania side of the river and overturned.

The teenager reached land on the Pennsylvania side, but the other group members couldn't find her father. Authorities said the group had embarked earlier in the day from a campground in Knowlton.

The search was suspended around 8 p.m. Saturday and resumed early Sunday.

The accident occurred just hours after officials had issued a warning that the river had crested several feet above normal due to heavy rains upstream.
