Teen Pleads Guilty in Deadly Phone Robbery

An 18-year-old Pennsylvania man faces 25 to 50 years in prison for the fatal beating and robbing of a man over an iPhone.

Mitchell Dedes pleaded guilty in Luzerne County Court on Friday to third-degree murder, kidnapping and robbery charges.

Authorities say Dedes and another man stole an iPhone belonging to 29-year-old Aaron Reznick of Ebervale last August, tossed him into the trunk of a car, then beat and stomped on his head when he tried to escape.

Reznick was found unconscious and badly battered in the middle of a street in Hazleton, and he died ten days later.

Dedes will be sentenced in October.

The other defendant, 20-year-old Breon Judon, is facing an open count of criminal homicide and is due in court for a hearing on Sept. 3.
